Coffee cup reading is an ancient Middle Eastern ritual, and it's actually been around longer than China’s tea leaf reading.

Many people consider the practice of reading coffee grinds at the bottom of a coffee cup, fortune telling. I have my own doubts about that though.

Now, I have to say firstly that I am NOT a psychic person. Or, at least I don’t know if I am. I also have no problem with people who claim “gifted psychics” label and read a cup “using insight powers”.

​

What I do is reading the images on the cup and telling you how they connect to each other.  

​

Sometimes, there are stand-alone images that shout for something important.

​

No doubt, I am a storyteller person. So I interpret every section of the cup and I create a story according to the symbols I see.

​

That’s how my father used to do it in our coffee shop (male audience of course!). The atmosphere was full of fun, laughs, clapping, sexist remarks and anxiety to see things happening.

​

And one day, he handed me the “magic symbol list” with his elementary school level of handwriting.

​

He never told me where he learned all that stuff. But truly, he was very talented and accurate to the point!

I learned the 500 symbols in around 10 days of full study and I became his assistant. You can check 40 of them here. In six month period I was the attraction of the coffee shop.

Coffee cup reading is a fun thing to do with friends even if you don’t believe that it really works. But for sure, it will make your indifferent cup of coffee much more interesting…
